The five finalists for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP) and a panel of moderators will participate in a symposium tomorrow from 1-3pm in Crown Hall.
Please attend. These opportunities to participate in meaningful conversations about architecture and agency are why you are here, and are a valuable resource provided to you by the School.
I’ve been informed by the school that all Open House work in Upper Core will need to be removed by end of day tomorrow. I will be there around noon tomorrow to supervise removal, and if you have work on the tables in Upper Core, please come to take it away at or by that time if you haven’t already. There is no need to store work any further, so please remove it to your homes/apartments or dispose of it.
If you cannot retrieve it, but want to have it saved, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to that time to let me know.
If you have work in Lower Core, you may also remove it at that time, but there is no rush in Lower Core. The school would like to leave the Lower Core exhibit installed through the summer – or at least until they send another note along.
Sorry for the late notice, and thank you for the assistance and cooperation in advance.
It was a great showing in Crown today. We thank you for all the hard work and the final push.
12:40, Seigel Hall Auditorium – We will have an informal Portfolio seminar to provide a few thoughts and answer questions you may have about the design of your portfolios. This is not a mandatory meeting.
2:00p, in studio – Studio wide clean-up. We need to clean the entire second floor of 3410, as well as the basement, and rid it of all the trash, paper, excess, junk, garbage. This is a mandatory class period, and there are no excuses. The only thing that can be left in your studios, in the halls and in the basement after tomorrow’s meeting is your materials and models that must be removed over the weekend. Anything left in studio after Sunday will be discarded. This will be a collective effort, and we will all be responsible for everyone’s mess.
4:00pm, studio wide BBQ. As soon as 3410 is completely clean, we will move out to the north east side of M&M and have a studio wide BBQ. Our annual gathering is a pot-luck, and we ask that you guys chip in a bring food/drink/sides/sweets to contribute to the party. We will bring a few things to kick it off, and always look forward to enjoying a more relaxed time together to celebrate all the effort and hard work. We will be resurrecting the brick oven as well, and pizzas will be flowing once it’s hot.
As discussed, we will hold an informal portfolio seminar tomorrow afternoon from 12:40-2p in the Seigel Hall auditorium.
