HYBRID mid-project progress review

Reviews are tomorrow in Upper Core in the same locations our studios have reviewed this semester.   If you have any questions as to where your studio will review, please consult earlier blog posts.

A few notes/reminders:

– Have an agenda/objective for your review.  Always have an idea about what you want to get out of a review and tailor your presentation accordingly.

– Don’t talk too much.  Your professor may establish a limit, but regardless, never spend too much time presenting.  Spending too much time presenting takes away from the time a reviewer has to critique, and often means that you didn’t have a proper agenda for your presentation.  As always, default to your professor’s criteria for the review, but a good way to frame your presentation is to answer Why, What and How?

– We would like to start reviews as close to 2pm to allow for as much review time as possible, so please begin hanging your work well prior to that.   You’ve done great with this thus far.  Please keep up the effort.

– Lastly, the National Architectural Accrediting Board is at IIT the beginning of this week reviewing our school and confirming our ability to offer professional degrees.  This is the agency that ensures that institutions are delivering the necessary standard of education to students and to the public, and schools must go through this review every 8 years or so.  Our review in Upper Core will likely be the only review they see, and as such we are representing the college.  Please bring your best work (and lots of it), and let’s put up a great display.
