There is an upcoming bus trip, sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction. It is open to anyone who wants to join.
FROM THE AISC WEBSITE:
This is your opportunity to visit an operating structural steel mill and experience hot rolled sections being produced. You will experience first-hand the entire production cycle from an electric arc furnace melting scrap to the final dimensional rolling of shapes. AISC will provide bus transportation from downtown Chicago (leaving at 7:30 am) to the mill in Columbia City, Indiana and returning by 4:30 pm. Breakfast on the bus and lunch at the mill will be provided. THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY NOT TO BE MISSED. In order to arrange transportation, registration for this event is required no later than September 23rd. Note: closed toed shoes and ankle length pants are required.
