Nice work, everyone, for a great workshop on Friday. I was in M&M again today, and there, looking at them all lined up and clamped together, I couldn’t help but think that we really accomplished something very valuable.
Aside from saying that, I wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be stripping the formwork off the samples Monday afternoon at 2pm.Anyone who is interested or has a sample should join us there to ‘carefully’ remove the formwork from the casts and inspect the finishes.
Remember, AND THIS IS KEY, on each cast, you need to document the sample. It’s critical to mark what the mix was, what the formwork was and what the consolidation method was. Do not mark this on the face of the sample, but please do so on the edge as clearly and cleanly as possible.
Also critical – ALL SAMPLES need to be left in M&M until Wednesday, as Chris Cordell will set up a photo booth to document each sample, success and failures alike. He’ll need your notes to make what will become our portfolio of concrete finishes, and this document will be available to you once complete.
